About Me

Personal Info: My (real) name is Dave, but you can call me "WormFood". I've been using the name "WormFood" for over 10 years now. I have lived in and around Ocala, Florida, for most of my life, and I still live in this area. My first computer experience goes back to the late '70s, and I've been a computer addict ever since.

Experience With: analog and digital electronics, Amateur Radio including packet, DOS 3.3+/Windows 3.x/9x/NT4, OS-9/6809, OS-9/68000, Linux 2.0+, FreeBSD 3.x/4.x, assembler (motorola and AVR, and some x86), C, Perl, shell script, awk, sed, unix (linux) administration (system and network), Internet protocols/programs (http, smtp, pop, imap, https, dns, ssh, etc...), network administration, and more...

I'm very skilled with all aspects of Linux administration, configuration, and trouble shooting as either server or desktop (or both). I'll learn what I don't already know, and there is a lot to know.

Certifications are worthless without real world experience to back them up. I didn't "study" for any of the following certifications.

These brainbench certifications were taken in late 2000, and early 2001 before they went to a pay-per-test model. Scores between 3.0 and 3.99 are passing, scores between 4.0 and 5.0 are passing, at 'master' level. I took each test only once.

When I took the "Internet Concepts" test, I got the 4th highest score at that time.
