- Cruel Site of the Day
- You've heard of "Cool Site of the Day", well here is a parody of that site.
Stop by at least once a week so you can read the
paragraph about each site.
Linux Games
Network
- netcat -
The "TCP/IP swiss army knife". What a great program, just read the README with it. (look under "Network Utility Tools"). Other cools tools on this page, but most are for windoze.
- qmail - If you're
still using sendmail, then you might want to check out qmail. It is much
more secure, very flexible, and much easier to configure.
- vpopmail - Handles virtual domains with qmail, very nice.
- sqwebmail - Web based email that supports qmail/vpopmail, has folders (that are accessable via IMAP), an address book, and a spell checker.
- qmailadmin - Allows the "postmaster" of a domain to add/change/delete/forward email accounts for a domain through a web based interface. It also allows a "regular" user to change their password.
- rsync - This program can
replace ftp (not compatible with ftp), and has many more features.
General Linux
- xmms - The X MultiMedia System is a
very nice audio player (mp3s, etc), that has the look and feel of winamp.
- MPlayer -
Yet another movie player for Linux, but this one works, and it works well.
This program plays everything I've asked it to play, except for quicktime,
and real media videos, and they're supported as of ver 0.60. (I wrote a FLI viewer 9 or 10 years before MPlayer did)
- CDRDAO - A program to create
and burn the popular bin/cue images.
